VoidPug

A weekly memory for pug raids. Captures leader info, rosters, kills, and battletags from chat — so you can find the same group again next reset.

01Why I built it

You finally find a competent pug group. The raid leader runs a tight ship. Adds get killed in priority order. You actually clear half the bosses. You finish the night thinking "I want to run with these people again" — and then weekly reset wipes the lockout, the in-game group disbands, and you have no way to reach anyone. The leader's character name doesn't get you their next pug, because they've already swapped toons.

VoidPug solves that one specific problem. It quietly listens to raid chat the entire time you're in a pug group, captures every battletag anyone posts (people do post them, way more than you'd think), takes a roster snapshot when you zone in, logs which bosses you killed together, and ties it all to the leader's identity.

After reset, you open the panel, see last week's good group with one-click contact options, and rebuild the run.

02What's inside

Quiet capture

  • Raid-chat battletag scanner

Listens to raid, instance, and guild chat for the standard battletag pattern. Stores them tied to the character name that posted. No prompts, no popups, no extra commands.

  • Roster + kill snapshot

Captures group composition when you zone in plus boss kills as they happen. Tied to the leader and timestamped.

  • Smart roster view

Distinguishes members who finished the run from people who left or got kicked. Helps you remember "the holy paladin who stayed to the end" vs "the rogue who rage-quit on boss 3."

Weekly reconnect

  • Lockout panel

Lists every pug group you've been in. Filter by raid, sort by completion, search for a specific player.

  • One-click contact

If you've captured the leader's battletag, the panel shows a button that opens the right chat to message them. Otherwise it shows the character name with realm so you can /who them or look up on the next reset.

  • Minimap toggle

Stays out of your face. /vp opens the panel; /vp minimap shows or hides the icon.

03Install

In-game: /vp opens the panel.
