01Why I built it

If you've played WoW for any length of time, you know the bag dance: open all 5 bags, squint at 200+ items, drag-drop until things look vaguely organized, repeat after every raid. There are great existing bag addons, but most are configuration-heavy — they want you to tell them which items go where. I didn't want to configure. I wanted the bags to know.

VoidBags reads your bag contents and routes each item into one of 17 contextual categories — Equipment, Warband-bound, Cosmetics, Flasks, Potions, Food, Quest Items, Keys, professional reagents (per-profession), Craftables, Junk, and so on. The categorization is opinionated and runs on every bag-update event. No setup. No labels. No drag.

And because it already knows what's in your bags, it can do other useful things: search across all your characters for an item you forgot which alt has, auto-sell the junk lane at any merchant, auto-repair (with optional guild funds), and flag below-threshold reagents using Auction House data when available.

02What's inside

17 contextual categories automatic routing

Equipment · Warband · Cosmetics
Gear lanes separated by bind type. Warband-bound items (bindType 7/8) get their own lane so you don't accidentally sell heirlooms.
Flasks · Potions · Food & Drink · Consumables
Combat consumables split out from food and generic consumables. Glanceable inventory before a raid pull.
Profession reagents (per-profession routing)
Herbs lane to Alchemists. Meat/Fish/Cooking subclass to Cooks. Gems/JC subclass to Jewelcrafters. Plays nice with VoidProf.
Quest Items · Keys · Craftables · Junk · Miscellaneous
The catch-all lanes. Junk goes to the bottom; the sell-junk command targets only this lane.

Cross-character search find any item across your roster

/vb search <name>
Snapshots bag contents per character on logout. Search finds items across every character on your account. No more "I think it's on my hunter? Or maybe the priest?"

Merchant integration one-command cleanup

/vb sell
Sells everything in the junk lane plus any reagents under your configured AH-value threshold. Set the threshold with /vb threshold <gold>.
/vb autosell · /vb autorepair · /vb guildrepair
Auto-sell on merchant interaction, auto-repair with optional guild bank funds. Set once, forget.
/vb protect
Mark items the addon refuses to sell, ever. A safety net for "I almost vendored that legendary."
